SOUTHAMPON ace Mario Lemina has shown off his gruesome injury after a rash challenge from West Ham’s Mark Noble.

The former Juventus man, 25, took to Instagram to share the horrendous image of the bloodied gash following Noble’s reckless lunge.

Saints eventually overcame the Hammers at home having led 2-0 against ten-man West Ham – who had brought it back to 22 with 15 minutes to play.

However, a 93rd-minute penalty from Charlie Austin sealed a hard-fought three points for Mauricio Pellegrino’s men.

After the game Lemina shared an image of himself celebrating during the 3-2 win over West Ham, as well as the pic of the horrific cut.

He captioned the snap: “Difficult win but 3 points at home!!! Thank you for the hosting in Premier League.”

Noble received no punishment for the tough challenge, perhaps in part down to Marko Arnautovic’s earlier red card for an elbow on Jack Stephens.

Lemina joined Southampton from Serie A giants Juventus this summer for £18million – following stints at Marseille and Lorient.

The former France Under-21 international has also earned nine full international caps for Gabon.

After the game, with Southampton netting their first home goals after going SIX games without finding the back of the net at St Mary’s, Pellegrino spoke of his relief.

He claimed: “It was a difficult game because we had everything under control after a sending off and two goals.

“West Ham are a strong team and they won a lot of balls in our box. It was a nice game to see, but difficult for a manager to be in.”
